We pulled this direct trade bean in as a partnership with the Winds of Peace Foundation. This organization has done some remarkeable work in Nicaragua and elsewhere in the world, helping grassroots initiatives through lending. To date, WOP holds the largest number of cooperatives in Nicaragua and works to supply lending for start ups and initiatives where other crediting opportunities are not available. Winds of Peace Foundation’s purpose is to address global problems of poverty, injustice and lack of opportunity, particularly as they exist in Nicaragua.They especially help provide an opportunity for the healthy development and future of women, indigenous people and the rural poor.
