"To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of this world." - Karl Barth
There are few Reformed theologians that we respect more than Karl Barth for his contributions to thought and his ethics as a part of the German Confessing Church. Alongside Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Barth is a symbol of resistance and a symbol of faith in a modern world overrun with ideology. Some have said, given Barth's magnum opus entitled Church Dogmatics, that no one has had such an important effect on Christian theology since St. Augustine.
